Crazy Cat

There's an attack cat on the loose in Fairfield, Conn. And the authorities are not going to take it lightly, apparently. The cat's name is Lewis, and he has 6 toes on each foot. The claws are, as its neighbor has stated, "formidable weapons."
Lewis for his part has been uniquely cited, personally issued a restraining order by the town's animal control officer.
How, exactly, one serves such an order on a feline is not mentioned in the article, but could raise some legal issues. Is a six-toed house cat with a nasty attitude competent to receive service of a legal order? Well, if he's not, then I guess his owner is.

Animal Control Officer Rachel Solveira placed a restraining order on him. It was the first time such an action was taken against a cat in Fairfield.

In effect, Lewis is under house arrest, forbidden to leave his home.

Solveira also arrested the cat's owner, Ruth Cisero, charging her with failing to comply with the restraining order and reckless endangerment.

This because the cat apparently waits in ambush and attacks people in the neighborhood. Some of those wuss - er - people have sought medical treatment following particularly devastating Lewis attacks.

Not sure if the moral of this is to look out for cat ambushes or to take very seriously any orders left on your doorstep addressed to your pet.
