So I'm testing out Blogger's new photo hosting service. I'm glad they added this feature. The whole linking to my webspace thing was getting a little old and now all I have to do is click one button and there's my picture all sized appopriately and everything...
The first two pictures are taken from my car right after entering Texas from the west. The top photo was taken through the right-side window of my car, the bottom one through the left, travelling down I-10. They'd built the wind farm (not a huge one, but pretty big) since the last time I'd driven that stretch of road about 8 years ago.
As I drove into Los Angeles from the east, I noticed some massive wind farms. I remember thinking that I wished Texas would follow suit. I guess I missed these on the way out west. I thought the juxtaposition was thought provoking, and what with all my ranting about peak oil theory every so often around here, somewhat appropriate. This does not, by the way, constitute a departure from my Politics Free Summer (With a Few Minor Exceptions)(tm). Trust me, you'll know when that ends because if you think it's easy for me to keep my mouth shut with Rove hovering over the abyss then you don't know me fr...er...see what I mean?
Anywho. This last photo is of a painting that hangs in my livingroom. Some of my readers may recognize it. It was done by a good friend of mine and given to my roommate at least 5 years ago -- the artist was only 18 or 19 at the time, max. It's dark and moody and I love it. I don't have the artist's permission to post this, but I suppose she probably wouldn't mind. Plus, I doubt she'll ever see this, and if she does I'll be glad she got in touch with me even if it is to yell at me about something.
That's all for now...more pictures and posts when I get the chance.
